The JUN Bonneville Z was running a complete Route 6 tranny. Escort's Z was running a converted Trust seq tranny for a Silvia - they also broke it frequently (Trust never made a tranny specifically for the Z). The switched later to the HKS 6-sp seq tranny and that has held up. The NS Company featured in the Hyper-Rev book was running a special seq tranny made for them by Richmond. : I think you are correct tho that new gearing would be ideal. And I would love to have a taller gear setup. And was also considering the OS Giken setup for the future as well. : Keep us posted on what you find I still be interested.
